Business Education

Educational programs help members, their businesses and their staff grow personally and professionally. Numerous topics will be presented on in 2024. Each topic is shared below - more information will be available for each session as we get closer to the program date.

RSVPs will be required due to limited space. Registrations open a month prior to the program date.

Free for Chamber Members. $15 for non-Chamber Members.

Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI)

This presentation by Tommy Wartman touches on the basics of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for small businesses, along with some examples of why we are hearing so much about it in today's news environment. The presentation will be orientated towards an introductory level of understanding and examples tailored towards some of the everyday applications of commonly available AI. This rapidly advancing sector in our world has massive potential to impact our world economy, jobs and sense of what is possible for those who know how to harness the power of AI.

Tommy Wartman is a business professional who works with Grow North Regional Economic Development Corporation and Nicolet College. Tommy has a particular interest in Artificial Intelligence and its potential impact on small businesses. Tommy holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a BS in Business from the Leeds School of Business at Boulder, Colorado.

Advertising Options for Beginners

This class is sure to be one of our most popular in the 2024 Business Education Series as we offer the ability to hear from our incredibly comprehensive advertising panel. Each advertising expert will speak for 20 minutes on the ins and outs of their field. The goal of the class is to introduce a wide variety of advertising options to businesses so they can learn what would or would not work for their particular business. Participants need not worry about being 'sold' advertising as this class is purely informational. Speakers will talk about the following advertising options: Television, Radio, Public Radio, Targeting, Newspaper and Print Advertising, Social Media, Billboards, and Streaming Media Ads.

Looking to connect with the future workforce? Don't have enough workers at your business? Find ways to partner with the School District of Rhinelander, through job shadows, guest speaking opportunities, company tours, and youth apprenticeship opportunities. We will share ways that students are engaging in discovering their passions and helping them find their future career.
