The University of Wisconsin-Extension and the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce are excited to accept applications for the 2017-2018 class of Leadership Oneida County.

Leadership Oneida County is a nine-month program for people involved in the Oneida County community, and those who seek to become even more involved in our community.  The program caters to people who live and work in Oneida County and are committed to developing our quality of life.

Previous participants say they learn a lot about their own home region.  Each month the candidates focus on a theme in Oneida County - from education to industry to medicine and beyond.  They meet local leaders, tour communities, and learn about the world around them.

As participants increase their understanding about the county, they work with program facilitators to develop their leadership potential.  Leadership knowledge and skills grow as participants partner with community organizations to complete service projects.  In total, they position themselves to contribute more meaningfully to the Oneida County community.

The program kicks off with a retreat on September 21, 2017, in Lake Tomahawk.  Monthly day-long sessions include a mid-year retreat and year-end graduation in May 2018.  Program days are the third Thursday of each month from 8am to 4:30pm.

Candidates are encouraged to apply early.  New this year, candidates applying before July 1, 2017, will take advantage of a program fee of $350.  After July 1 the program fee increases to $375.  Program fees include the retreat, lunches each day, and materials.  Limited scholarships are available to applicants.
