    Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce
    Event & Program Coordinator
     
    Reports to: Executive Director / Board of Directors
    Status: Non-Exempt
    Hours: Monday through Friday 9 am – 5 pm, some nights and weekends in summers and for special events
     
    General Summary
    The primary role of the Event & Program Coordinator is to promote the Rhinelander Area and RACC members through the development and implementation of special events and programs. Key duties include: Coordination of all aspects of events and programs.
     
    Specific Duties
    1. Event Tasks
      1. Current Chamber Hosted Events include:
        1. Annual Dinner- January, Hodag Home & Lifestyle Show – March, Hops & Vines Beer & Wine Tasting – April, Art Fair on the Courthouse Lawn and Rhinelander Car Show – June, Summer Kick Off Celebration – June, Hodag Musky Challenge – September, Christmas Parade & Tree Lighting – December
      2. Organize, execute and improve all Chamber hosted events. Tasks include:
        1. Securing event locations, Create content (applications/posters/marketing materials) branded to each event, Manage event timelines/details, Day of Event Contact
      3. Work with Executive Director to secure sponsorships, determine goals, develop/follow event budgets and advertise events.
      4. Serve as primary volunteer coordinator
      5. Serve as staff liaison for all event planning committees
      6. Minor tasks to assist outside organizations on their events – if it fits with the Chamber’s mission
    2. Program Tasks
      1. Current Chamber Hosted Programs include:
        1. Leadership Oneida County, Various Chamber Partnership presentations/ meetings, Rhinelander FUEL, Rhinelander Young Professionals, etc
        2. Coordinate Business After 5 Program – Secure hosts and co-hosts, market and manage day of event
      2. Work with Executive Director to organize, execute and improve all Chamber hosted programs. Tasks include:Securing event locations, Create content (applications/posters/marketing materials) branded to each event, Manage event timelines/details
    3. Marketing Tasks
      1. Serve as primary contact for Chamber Social Media accounts – Plan and execute Social Media posts, events, etc.
      2. Serve as primary Website contact – Maintain all updates to www.RhinelanderChamber.com and some updates to www.ExploreRhinelander.com 
      3. Assist with Rhinelander Area Guide Project – Promote and sell advertisements, Assist with content updates, Review for accuracy
      4. Help coordinate marketing efforts, including RTMC photo/video shoots and others as assigned
    4. Specialized Tasks
      1. Serve as “Alternate” in Oneida County Tourism Council if Executive Director is unable to attend
      2. Potentially attend meetings of other organizations that the Chamber is partnering with
      3. Assist Tourism & Membership Coordinator and Executive Director as needed

    This description is not all encompassing; other items may come up and must be completed as assigned by the Executive Director and/or Board of Directors.
     
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    Positive, cheerful attitude a must.  Knowledge of the Rhinelander area is a must.  Excellent attention to detail is necessary.  Strong computer skills, especially in using the internet, Microsoft Office programs, and email.  Familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus.  Exceptional organization skills and a strong ability to work independently.  Must possess excellent communication skills and follow through.  Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize.  Excellent customer service skills required. Must have ability to maintain confidentiality as needed.
