Name: Master Gardener Presentation
Date: September 17, 2019
Time: 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM CDT
Event Description:
Our monthly gardening educational seminars will resume with a timely program about seed saving. Join us Tuesday, Sept. 17th @ 6:00 pm for a presentation by Mike Haasl on Seed Saving. He'll explain how and why to save seeds with details about cross pollination and how to avoid the dreaded "zucchinumpkin". He'll also cover seed saving techniques for many common fruits and vegetables. Our presenter, Mike Haasl, is involved with the seed library at the Rhinelander District Library. He is also an avid homesteader and has been saving seeds for many years. Seed saving is important to preserving many rare varieties of plants and a way to extend your gardening budget. We’ll also be having an impromptu seed exchange so if you have some seeds to share, please bring them to the meeting. Be sure to have the variety name and maybe some extra labels. This Master Gardeners of the North program is Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. It will be held at the Oneida County Senior Center, 100 Keenan St. located next to the Trig’s Mall in Rhinelander. The free program is open to everyone interested in gardening and nature, so invite a gardening friend!
