Event Description:
Free and open to the Public! Jesse Randell in the Dept of Forestry at MI State University will be in downtown Rhinelander with a mobile maple syrup cooker demonstrating making maple syryup.

The purpose of this event is to teach kids how and why trees produce sap and how it is made into maple syrup.

Kids with their families are encourages to tap a tree in their yard, bring the collected sap to the Maple Sugar Shack located in the parking lot at the corner of Rives & Brown Streets and watch and ask questions as the sap is turned into syrup!

Any girl or boy who collects sap and brings it on Saturday will take home a sample of maple syrup.

Tree tapping kits will be available for $2.00 at Forth Floral starting 03/15/19. Kits include: 1 PVC Sap Sak Holder, 1 Plastic Spout (tap), 1 Blue Sap Sak and instructions.

The Rhinelander Brewing Company will be tapping a maple flavored beer that day.
