Event Description:
37th Annual Hodag Musky Challenge is September 21st - 23rd. The Tournament Headquarters - Quality Inn in Rhinelander. Heading into its 37th year, Anglers from around Wisconsin and the Midwest will cast their lines for the chance to take home part of a multi-thousand dollar cash purse and the title of 2018 Hodag Musky Challenge Champion. This catch-and-release tournament takes place September 21st-23rd and awards points for the size of muskies caught across five different lake groups in the Rhinelander area.
Lake Groupings for this year's tournament are: Boom Lake/WI River, Crescent Lake/Oneida Lake/Hancock Lake, Moen Chain, Pelican Lake and Lake Thompson/Lake George/Lake Julia.
In 2015, the tournament moved to a judge boat scoring format rather than lakeside fish registration stations. The rule change means that fish 34 inches and larger are eligible for points rather than only fish 40 inches and larger as in years past.

Since 1932, Ripco Credit Union has been servicing the Northwoods community. The name "Ripco" is an acronym for Rhinelander Industrial Paper COmpany. In 1972 Ripco became a Community Credit Union with a charter including the city of Rhinelander and the towns of Pine Lake, Crescent and Pelican. The charter further expanded to include all of Oneida County in 1976, and all of Forest County was added in 1977. 1980 saw Ripco's acquisition of the Musky Credit Union in Woodruff. Most recently - in September of 2011, Ripco's field of membership was further expanded to include everyone who lives, works or owns real estate in Oneida, Forest, Florence, Vilas, Langlade, Lincoln or Price County.
