Event Description:
Rhinelander Special Olympics 2-05 invites the community to dine at the Rhinelander Pizza Ranch (275 S. Eisenhower Parkway) on Wednesday, January 29 from 4-8 pm as part of a Pizza Ranch Community Impact night.
Athletes, coaches, parents and other volunteers and friends of Special Olympics will help serve guests and receive a donation that will go to help support the local Special Olympics program. Rhinelander 2-05 currently has 25-30 active Special Olympians on their roster.
The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. Through the power of sports, Special Olympians discover new strengths and abilities, skills and success.
