Everyone who celebrates Christmas has a favorite movie from the holiday season. Maybe it’s The Grinch or Elf or Home Alone or It’s a Wonderful Life. This year, the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce (RACC) is giving you the opportunity to show off your imagination, creativity and favorite holiday movie at the annual Christmas Parade.
The 2017 Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting will be held in downtown Rhinelander on Saturday, December 2, 2017. Festivities begin at 5:00 pm with the Christmas Parade with the traditional lighting of the Holiday Tree taking place at Stevensport Square immediately following the parade.
This year’s parade theme is “Celebrating Holiday Movies”. Participants entering the parade are encouraged to focus their float on their favorite holiday movie. The deadline for entries is Wednesday, November 29th and there is no entry fee.
To give Santa and Mrs. Claus a warm welcome, the RACC is inviting local businesses, community groups, non-profits and families to enter their floats into the annual parade.
The parade will start at the police station on Fredrick St., run South on Brown St., continue East on King St., and finally head North on Stevens St. to Stevensport Square.
