YMCA of the Northwoods providing additional opportunities
for those on the Autism Spectrum and Sensory Processing
On Saturday, February 27th and March 27th from 11:45am-1:45pm the YMCA of the Northwoods will offer an Autism Spectrum and Sensory Processing Friendly Swim Day. As a leading community nonprofit, the Y is committed to strengthening the foundations of our community. “The Y is excited to open our doors to our friends and neighbors”, said Ryan Zietlow, YMCA of the Northwoods CEO. “We know that recreational opportunities can reduce stress and anxiety, build confidence, and help individuals socialize effectively. Through a less crowded and stimulating environment while we are not open to members or the public, we hope to encourage family bonding and provide support to our friends and neighbors.” Families must call the YMCA of the Northwoods to register, and the event is free. If you are interested in supporting future events please contact Ryan Zietlow, YMCA of the Northwoods CEO.
The Autism Spectrum and Sensory Processing Friendly Day was made possible by a grant received from the Rhinelander Community Foundation.
